CTRL is a 2 day event based in Newcastle upon Tyne showcasing the importance of digital safety, safeguarding, and digital citizenship in gaming and esports.
I designed a cohesive brand identity that included a custom logo, visual style, and social media assets tailored to the client’s audience. Adhering to the Digital Safety CIC branding, I incorporated their purple whilst utilising teal, reflecting focus, innovation, balance and communication - whilst keeping the colours gender neutral and avoiding any specific stereotypes found within gaming / esports.
The overall style builds up a retro gaming aesthetic with the use of stylised vector assets hinting to retro gaming whilst keeping it modern with a futuristic element hinting towards in game HUD elements highlighting visibility - reflected in the font used, as it’s a sans-serif, blocky font. Which is bold, impactful whilst still being readable.
The logo is minimalistic, but is still sleek and modern, designed to fit well within the esports landscape with a modified sans-serif typeface with sharp edges all indicating to this futuristic / sci-fi feel going on with the teal and HUD elements.
