The Brief: The North East coastline is no exception to the challenges facing the environment and our oceans regarding litter and single use plastic. There are multiple volunteer groups trying to combat the problem while trying to educate the public and improve their local community.
Cullercoats Collective, Litter Action North Tyneside, Totally Tynemouth Collective and Whitley Bay Community Clean wanted to have a collective name, visual language and identity system that can galvanise their visibility and help them further pervade the consciousness of both the general public and potential sponsors or collaborators

My Insight: At a baseline is ‘community.’ Due to all the communities that we see along our coastlines and generally, this allows local communities to become stronger and come together to form bonds with others and feel included within their community. Allowing people to come together and feel pride and feel happy to make a difference in their local areas.

My Solution: To create a brand identity that focuses on community alongside all the smaller, but recognisable pieces of our coastlines. i.e. Wildlife such as our local seabirds and people coming together to form a positive change.
